Most of UAE’s 250,000 laborers are from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and for the most part are extremely passionate about cricket. To give them something back, Sprite put together a cricket tournament, which turned humble construction workers into Cricket Stars.
Over 42,000 workers from labor camps across the UAE entered Sprite Cricket Stars and teams practiced by moonlight after their long working hours. When the finals arrived, thousands of fans packed the stadium and we were able to entertain the dreams of some of the hardest working, most deserving people in the world.
